🎹 When Code Meets Keys
My second IDE is a DAW. I write electronic music — building patches, designing synths, automating LFOs. There’s a surprising amount of overlap between arranging a track and architecting a system: both require signal flow thinking, knowing when to layer, and when to strip things back.
I started in a symphony orchestra playing trombone, which taught me breathing and timing. Now I sequence MIDI and program piano lines. The tools changed, but the obsession with sonic texture stayed the same.
Whether it’s optimizing CUDA kernels or sculpting a supersaw lead, I’m basically just chasing the right waveforms.
